John Pavone

As a proven leader and IT professional, John has concentrated solely on security for the last 20 years, holding various security leadership positions including VP of Application Security Program Services, Application Security Program Manager and Enterprise Security Architect. John is a frequent speaker/instructor at major conferences such as OWASP, BlackHat, FS-ISAC, and SecureGov. John’s key accomplishments include establishing Aspect’s Application Security Programs consulting practice, managing enterprise-wide IT security programs, implementing enterprise identity and authorization systems and automating secure development processes and tools. John designed and implemented secure architecture and supporting processes for some of the most critical and complex systems across industry sectors including Financial Services, Central Banking, Government Agencies, US Treasury, and Transportation. John holds dual degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from West Chester University.

Dave Wichers

Dave has over 25 years of experience touching all aspects of secure software development for high assurance projects. A founding member of OWASP and Board Member for 10 years, Dave has contributed his expertise to many free and open tools, including the OWASP Top Ten, Enterprise Security API (ESAPI) and WebGoat. As a foremost expert in application security, Dave teaches secure coding practices to a worldwide clientele, including sectors of the Department of Defense and the Federal government. Dave began his career as a computer security consultant assisting DoD clients such as the NSA, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and product vendors selling into the defense market.

Dave holds a B.S.E in Computer Science from Arizona State and a M.S in Computer Science from the University of California at Davis and is a CISSP. A history buff, Dave enjoys genealogy, and discovered that he is a descendant of Pocahontas. You can reach Dave at: dave.wichers ‘at’

Noelle Hardy

Noelle manages Aspect’s application security consulting practice, leading a team that verifies an average of 5,000,000 lines of code every month, most of which are critical to national infrastructure and defense. Throughout her entire career, Noelle has helped commercial and government clients address their information security needs and has been involved with the design and development of several commercial security products.

Prior to joining Aspect in 2004, Noelle managed the Incident Manager product line for Symantec Corporation where she defined direction, established priorities, and coordinated release activities. Before joining Symantec, Noelle established the east coast security services practice for Exodus Communications, where she developed service offerings, created new business, managed service delivery, and supported key clients. Noelle began her career with Trusted Information Systems, Inc. (now Network Associates) where she played a key role in the design, development, and evaluation of several secure high assurance operating systems and products. Noelle has a B.S in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland and a M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and is a CISSP.

Pete leads our business development efforts and draws on over 20 years of proven sales experience with the last 12 focusing on cybersecurity. Prior to joining Aspect in 2007, Pete worked for respected companies such as @Stake and Symantec. For the past 9 years Pete has acted as an Account Executive and then Director of Strategic Accounts for Aspect where he managed the relationships with some of Aspect’s largest customers.

Pete also spent 6 years as a Chapter Leader of the New York OWASP Chapter and was co-chair of the OWASP AppSec USA 2013 conference. Pete holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Minor in History from the University of Scranton. Becoming an Eagle Scout remains a proud accomplishment.

When he’s not supporting customers, Pete can most likely be found taking his son and daughter to their sporting activities and when he gets a chance, he enjoys skiing and mountain biking. Pete can be reached at: peter.dean ‘at’
